A few weeks ago I mentioned that my goal for 2011 were more travel, running and writing.  I also have a specific goals pertaining to this blog that I didn’t mention: getting more visitors to my site and earning money from it even though I have no idea how to make that happen.  I once heard a quote that, paraphrased, said “begin to weave and God will provide the thread”. So I have been weaving – writing more posts, increasing my social networking presence, doing guest posts on other blogs – and God has provided the thread.

Enter the 1000-1000 Travel Blog Challenge.  This experiment by Todd Wassel of Todd’s Wanderings and the Travel Blog Challenge Network seeks to discover whether travel blogging is a viable way to earn an income and is a way for the travel blogging community to motivate each other earn $1,000 USD per month and get an average of 1,000 visitors per day.

At this point, I haven’t had an average of 100 visitors per day, and I may have earned enough to buy myself a Starbucks coffee. Maybe.  However, I am going to continue to weave, absolutely believing that God is going to provide the thread.
