A couple of ghouls I encountered on my ghost walk.
Despite the fact that I’ve never been a big fan of Halloween, I’ve been quite busy with it this year, even going on a ghost walk in Amsterdam. I’ll admit, it was a little cheesy, with the guide showing up wearing a long black duster, carrying a walking stick as he told stories about the undead who have inhabited Amsterdam for centuries, but entertaining nonetheless.
The guide did weave a good yarn and with his British accent, he told about some of the haunted happenings about town as dramatically as he would have performed a monologue from one of Shakespeare’s great plays. Did someone really hang himself in a room in the top floor of that building? Was that young girl really haunted by the ghost of the man she saw executed at Dam Square? And the question that I really want to know the answer to: what happened to the bodies in the former cemetery? Did they move them along with the headstones? You all saw Poltergeist, right?
