Dubai, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), sits on the Persian Gulf, and with everything from awesome architecture, soaring skylines, exotic culture, beaches and shopping, it is a great option for a family vacation.
The Lovely Ladies and I divided our time in Dubai between the two Four Seasons properties – Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) – making our time in Dubai even more wonderful.
Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Center
Four Seasons DIFC is a sleek luxury hotel located in the heart of Dubai’s business district. While that may not sound particularly enticing to most families, keep in mind that it’s just over a mile away from the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. The contemporary-style rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows (some with enviable views of Burj Khalifa), complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, are spacious and comfortable.
The rooftop features very cool, glass-sided pool, which Miss P commented resembled an aquarium. We didn’t use the pool because we were never around during the hours when it was in use, and because it was kind of small, I honestly don’t think we would have used it if we had been.
DIFC has several restaurants and lounges, of which Firebird Diner, with its American menu and vibe, was our favorite and we visited on more than one occasion.
Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach
Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach is a luxurious resort with the sea on one side and the vibrant city of Dubai on the other. The resort features a private beach and 2 outdoor swimming pools, which Miss P, Miss V and I had a hard time tearing ourselves away from. In fact, we spent most of our time there enjoying the exclusivity and privacy of the cabanas, leaving only to have meals in one of the resorts excellent restaurants and lounges.
The luxury continues with the resort’s health and wellness facilities, which include an indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a jogging track by the beach and a sumptuous spa that also offers treatments for kids and teens.
Four Seasons Resort Dubai is great for families, and while Miss P and Miss V are now too old, the resort provides the complimentary Kids For All Seasons program, a welcome amenity with kid-sized bathrobes, children’s toiletries and a toy, and other amenities such as cribs, baby bathtubs, and high chairs, are available on request.
Just as with Four Seasons DIFC, Four Seasons Resort is in close proximity to Dubai’s main attractions. Burj Khalifa, the Gold Souk, and Dubai Mall are all a 15-minute car ride away.
My family and I received a discount on our stay at the Four Seasons Dubai properties. I was not asked to express any particular point of view, and as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
